Hyundai Launches Ioniq V Electric Sedan in China at 16,380 USD

Hyundai's Ioniq V electric sedan entered the Chinese market on 29 September 2026 with pricing from 109,900 to 139,900 yuan (16,380 to 20,850 USD) before discounts. Limited promotional pricing ran from 99,900 to 131,900 yuan (14,890 to 19,655 USD). The vehicle was developed by Hyundai's China Design Center as part of the automaker's expansion in the growing new energy vehicle segment.

The Ioniq V presents a refined exterior featuring clean lines and a distinctive bonnet profile, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd. Measuring 4,900 × 1,890 × 1,470 mm with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, the sedan is 10 mm shorter than the Hyundai Sonata. Eight color options are available: golden, purple, green, gray, white, matte white, silver, and black.

The interior houses a 27-inch dual display system alongside a head-up display, with infotainment powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295 processor. The vehicle employs an 800V high-voltage architecture paired with CATL LFP batteries. The entry-level 540 variant features a 53.5 kWh battery paired with a 140 kW (188 hp) motor delivering 540 km range under CLTC conditions. The 650 variant uses a larger 66.8 kWh battery with a 168 kW (225 hp) motor achieving 650 km CLTC range.
